PLANT BASED CAESAR DRESSING !
Have you been using caesar dressings that are store brought ? You don't have to make major changes in your diet to see good changes in your body. You just need to understand the minor loopholes that are making your lipid levels in your body shoot up. Try this nut based recipe for additional health benefits.
This tastes great with salads, sandwiches and whole-wheat rolls.
What do we need ?
A handful of cashews, few garlic pods, pepper, salt, few peanuts (less than a handful), cilantro or Coriander leaves, lime juice, oil (olive/rice bran/jojoba/sesame).
How to prepare ?
This is a very quick recipe, is nutritionally beneficial than mayonnaise based dressings.
Method:
1. Soak a handful of cashews in little water for 20 mins(to make them soft).
2. Roast a few peanuts and 3 garlic pods.
3. Add the soaked cashews, roasted peanuts, garlic pods, pepper, salt, cilantro or Coriander leaves (a handful) into a small blender.
4. Add 2 teaspoons of oil into the blender along with the other ingredients (you can mostly add olive or sesame or rice bran that adds to the flavour).
5. Blend them well till you see a smooth and fine paste. Add the half a lemon juice into the blender and blend it again.
6. I have also added 1 teaspoon of cheddar cheese powder (this is optional though).
7. Your dressing is ready to be served.
Do add chilled water to the dressing to make it easy to drizzle.
This is a nut based (plant based) recipe and goes well with Vegan diet as well.
